of the gateway for your account.

To a Single Number

Let's send an 'Email to SMS' to the UK mobile number 07590 123456
44 is the country code for the UK - for other country codes please see here.
To a Group List
grp_GROUPID_GROUPPIN@sms.world-text.com
Let's send an 'Email to SMS' to the group 1234 which has the PIN 4321
Authentication
Methods for authentication of your Email to SMS submissions, enabling them to be attributed to your account (and be sent). You may configure multiple options, your Email to SMS submissions will be authenticated
against any one of those methods (not the combination of them).
Configuration
- Domain Name - For example if your company email address was ‘youremail@acompany.com’, you would enter ‘company.com’ in the ‘New Domain’ box and click ‘+ Add’. This would then allow all users which have an
‘@acompany.com’ email address to send Email to SMS.
- Email Address - Add all email addresses you wish to be able to use the Email to SMS gateway if you wish to restrict to specific users rather than opening to an entire domain. Please note
when sending from web email services such as Gmail™, Hotmail™, Yahoo™ etc., you will need to enable 'Trust Headers' in the 'Special' tab.
- IP Address - By entering the static IP address of your dedicated email server this is used to authenticate Emails to SMS. Ideal for organisations that run their own mail servers.
- Password - This gives you the ability to send an Email to SMS using a Secure ID Password in the subject line of the email. This removes the need to specify email addresses or domains that are able to send email
to SMS or alternatively by configuring multiple accounts / sub-accounts the ability to send over these and thus adhering to the rules associated with that account.
Blackout
Add black-out periods, during this time any Email to SMS submitted will be silently ignored.
Detailed explanation of format options for the Email to SMS Gateway text messages.
Configuration
- Source Address - This is the default source address that Email to SMS (aka sender / sender ID) will show on the recipients handset as being sent from (where possible).
- Long SMS - As a default the maximum message length is set as 1 (i.e. 160 characters long for GSM encoded SMS), however if you wish for it to be possible for longer ‘multi-part’ message to be sent to mobile phones
please choose a maximum message length of up to 9 parts.
- Include Sender (start) - Include the email address from which the Email to SMS has be sent, prefixed to the start of the SMS.
- Include Sender (end) - Include the email address from which the Email to SMS has be sent, suffixed to the end of the SMS.
- Include Subject - Enable the ‘Subject’ of the Email to SMS to be prefixed to the start of the SMS, after the 'Sender (start)' if that option is enabled.
- Exclude Body - Ignores any message body of the Email to SMS. With this set, only the email subject line and/or sender will be included if these options are enabled.
- Raw Format - Control the formatting of the message, normally all ‘new lines’ and extra empty ‘blank spaces’ are removed from the message to make the text message as short
as possible, saving you money. However, by enabling this option all ‘new lines’ and ‘blank spaces’ are used, which my be useful if you require special formatting of the text message.
- Overrides - Allows for special overrides to be activated by including these at the start of the message body. Currently there is only one available for use. Including the
special brackets indicated, this is: [[SRCADDR:XXX]] where ‘XXX’ is a different source address other than is specified as your default source address. The source address must of course have
already be requested and allocated to your account.
- Substitutions - There are four commands you may include in your Email to SMS allowing for special features to be activated. Including the special brackets indicated, these are: {{START}}
Specifies the start of the message body. {{STOP}} Specifies the end of the message body. {{TIME}} Inserts the current time in to the message (GMT). {{DATE}} Inserts the current date in to the message body (GMT).
Forwarder
This allows you to have all emails that are forwarded to the Email to SMS Gateway to be sent to a specific mobile. The use of the daily quota feature is recommended. This option is ideal for
emails being forwarded from the likes of Gmail which cannot adhere to such authentication methods as described above.
Configuration
- New Mobile / Cell Number - Enter the number you wish to be able to receive the forwarded Email to SMS in international format (ex. the UK mobile number of 07590 123456 would be entered as
447590123456, '44' is the country code for the UK.
- Alias - Enter a name for the authorised mobile / cell number for your own identification purposes.
- Quota - It is suggested to use a daily quota, so should you receive a large volume of emails you do not in-turn receive a large number of SMS. You must ensure that the SMS cannot
be authenticated through any other method (domain, email address, IP address or password), if they can be then the quotas will be ignored.
Receipts
Receipts are optionally emailed every time a text message is dispatched and delivered.
If the Email field is left blank, then the receipt is dispatched to the user who sent the original message.
Configuration
- Email Address - If setup, this is the email address any dispatch or delivery receipts will be emailed to. Click on the '+ Update' button to add or update the email address. Dynamic receipt
routing - If receipts are turned on, but you leave the email address field blank, this will dynamically return receipts back to the orginal email address that any Email to SMS was sent from.
- Dispatch Receipts - Receive an email to the specified email address (or the email sender if not specified) upon your message being successfully sent for delivery.
- Delivery Receipts - Receive an email to the specified email address (or the email sender if not specified) if we receive an delivery receipt. Please note that not all networks support these, such as USA and Canada.
Special
Allow you to control if you allow delivery to any number, or just those in your address book and if you allow your account to trust the sender in the email header.
Configuration
- Restrict Recipients - The following setting allow you to restrict Email to SMS messages to only numbers that are in your address book.
If enabled messages will silently be dropped if the destination number is not registered. As a default, you may send to any number.
- Trust From Header - This lets your account trust the content of the FROM header in an email, this is an easily forged field but may be required
in some special instances where the SMTP envelope sender cannot be controlled, such as when sending from web email services such as Gmail™, Hotmail™, Yahoo™ etc.
