Access to our SMSC (Short Message Service Centre) using the SMPP (Short Message Peer to Peer) protocol is available, this allows your application to communicate with our SMSC to perform one-way and two-way messaging between the application and SMS capable mobile devices. High throughput, high volume bulk SMS is particularly suited to this method of submission.
Suitable for use with all standard SMPP applications based on SMPP v3.3 / v3.4 protocols.
SMPP is not enabled by default on accounts, you must contact us to request SMPP access.
SMPP is primarily aimed at high volume, high throughput bulk SMS uses. If you will send or receiving low to medium volumes, with low to medium throughput you may want to consider using our HTTP REST API.
SMPP is not available to trial accounts, after you have made your first purchase of SMS credits please contact us to have SMPP enabled.
SMPP activation normally takes no longer than 24 hours during office hours.
The SMPP protocol allows a client’s applications to access World-Text’s Mobile Message Routing Platform (MMRP) to send and/or receive SMS.
The application should implement the SMPP protocol (version 3.3 or 3.4) to communicate with World-Text’s systems. SMPP SDK and toolkits are available from a number of sources for Java, C/C++, Perl, VB and other languages on various operating systems. One such SDK is the SMPP Developers Toolkit and is available from Logica CMG.
Further information on this toolkit is available from Logica CMG Other toolkits and SMPP capable applications are available from 3rd party vendors.
We have an SMSC simulator running on our servers, this provides full FREE access to our SMPP interface for clients wishing to integrate with our SMSC. If you would like to integrate your SMPP application to our SMSC simply contact us and we will be happy to help.
Please note, the SMPP simulator is NOT a protocol verifier and is not for testing SMPP applications, neither does it deliver messages. It simply responds appropriately to the SMPP commands that our service supports.
For a protocol verifier and testing an SMPP application we suggest WireShark.
